BLACK ANCESTRAL TRIBES
The Black Ancestral Tribes are the original Black African Tribes that were subjected to slavery by either the Arab slave trade, the Portuguese Angola slave trade, or by the European transatlantic slave. It’s important to note that the Arab slave trade predates the European transatlantic slave trade and continued for a more extended period, from approximately the 7th century to the 20th century. The European transatlantic slave trade spanned from the 15th century through the 19th century.
These ancestral tribes include but not limited to Akan, Ambundu, Amhara, Igbo, Swahili, Yoruba, and Zulu. Together they make up to ninety percent of all Africa’s indigenous tribes devastated by slavery beyond the shores of Africa.
In centuries that follow, the descendants of these tribes in diaspora lost their rich ancestral lineage. In reversing this loss, AfriMAX collaborates with stakeholders in the black communities and other institutions in providing products and services that are tailored towards restoring these Black Ancestral Tribes to their descendants worldwide and to Africans in diaspora.
